My partner Eric and I had a good day fishing white bass and hybrids (Wipers) on Lake Erie in early June. What most people dont realize is that white bass are great eating! I fry them up in buttermilk pancake mix and it's hard to beat especially if they are fresh.

DINNER TIME!!! lol
What do you catch them on rich???
Jake, down here in GA and up north in TN, you can use Little Cleo's, small white spinnerbaits (rocket shad comes to mind) and even white grubs to catch them. The 1/2 oz. Rat-L-Traps are good for them as well, as are the baitfish colored inline spinners. :thumbup01:
I spend 10-12 weeks each year targeting white bass. I fish them from pre-post spawn and in the fall when the chase shad to the shallows. I find them particularly succeptible to my hand crafted bucktail jigs.

That's too purdy of a tackle box to have been fishing too much. :rofl1:

Out of all those, I see 2 jigs that I would use for crappies. :thumbup01:
Rarely does a crappie take one of those jigs. All 4 species of black bass, white bass and walleye really like some of the colors. The red/silver is a real producer. The first year my bud and I used it we took 3,000 fish on it.
very nice jigs thanks for sharing
A little late on the uptake but I use Kastmaster jigging spoons, Cleos, 3" white grubs and occasionally a spook for them. Great fighters for their size.

i don't see the pix in the first post? but i do see the ones down low....!
eat like pack wolves! i know they can't be transported here alive, not sure about C&R but i think it OK, can't make people kill animals?
Hey, Rich, if you like them fried, try them smoked. Your tongue will thank you!

Just about anything that imitates a small minnow will catch white bass, and for their size, they put up a good fight.
:jitterbug:
