For me, I have found that Gamakatsu has hooks for everything that I need. From fishing bulky plastics, to fishing finesse worms and wacky rigs, and even drop-shot rigs. They have some of the best treble hooks on the market and I honestly feel that the hooks are the sharpest out there.

So, which ones do you use? ;D

I use gamakatsu 90% of the time also. However the past year I have started using some X-Points. They are a very impressive hook which have an amazing penetration power. The only downside is that I have noticed them affect the action of some of the baits I fish because they are heavier than the Gamakatsus I normally use.

Gamakatsu........Ove been looking for a 3/0 hook on a jig head with the weed gaurd. The unpainted kind that you have to attatch the gaurd yourself but I can only get the 2/0. Mustad is good too.

gammy 99.9% of the time is my choice

Danielt, I have not been able to find the Gammy's you describe for sometime. I did run across an ebay store "D-M Custom Baits" who I tried out and found his jigs to be good quality.

Not sure of the application or weights you are looking for but D&M will work with you to hand pour and color if you like almost anything you are looking for with a Gammy hook. I copied an advertisement from his sight to give you some info on some of his products and claims.

I thought I would offer this option up for you to see if this something you would like to persue
Like I said I have found his stuff to be good quality, but I am not endorsing him past that. The only gain for me is the hope I have helped a fellow basshole.

I have to be honest, I'm cheap and use whatever I find on sale. The only hook that I look for specificaly are the gammy superline hooks. They are heavier than others and I like the action that they give a unweighted fluke or senko type bait.

Use the best quality hooks you can afford; Mustad Ultra, Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp, Gamakatsu, Owner, Daiichi and VMC are all good quality hooks.
The connection between you and the bass is the hook and line, nothing is more important. You can catch bass with line wrapped around a beer can, but not with an expensive rod and reel without line and hooks.

I am surprised Tom listed Eagle Claw Lazer Sharp. Those things are anything but sharp. They don't even snag your finger nail.

Mustad makes very stout sharp hooks. I used to love Gamakatsu hooks. They have let me down too many times. The wire gauge is just too light for me. I have bent many of their hooks on fish and or stumps etc. Once the hook bends and you bend it back it is finished.

I also use Owner hooks as they are stout hooks also. All of those are real sharp.
