What Color Skirt, When?

1434 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  dkinder605
I have always been a firm believer that when spinnerbait or buzzbait fishing only a couple skirt colors are ever needed, however, more and more anglers are starting to use a more varied array of skirt colors.

I am curious, what is your favorite color skirt for certain water clarities. Clear? Muddy? etc... How many of you will also choose a skirt color based on the available forage?

I'm a firm believer that spinner baits, single and tandem blade type, are reaction bite lures.
Clear water use a color that looks like shad, pearl white/chartreuse/blue with silver/gold blades.
Off color water use similar colors, with gold/pearl white blades
Buzz baits; chartreuse w/ white silver/white buzzer blades or black/black buzzer.
Twin spins*; purple or black w/gold blades.
