I got up around 5:00 am and made my way to a private pond that I haven't been to in almost 2 years. The last time that I was there I caught several fish weighing in between 2 lbs to 7lbs. I know there were going to be some big bass in here today. I got all my gear ready and made the 1 mile walk through the woods to this private heaven for bass. As I walked up the dam of the pond this is what I found.................................................
I hate to say this but my fishing is done for until we get some major rain. It will take two or three years before we get any "big" bass back in our ponds if not longer. This pond above is about knee deep right now???
I know we had to move a tournament location 2 months ago because of low water. ( couldnt safely launch boats from the ramp ).
Also about 5 years ago, we had alot of places that looked like what you posted above. There are 2 places that you could walk across and not get your ankles wet.
We have several lakes near by but I don't fish lakes. I fish mainly small ponds and private mini lakes. I do on occasions fish at Pruitt Lake but that is maybe only 3 times a year.
