Bassmaster Elite Series rookie Britt Myers has an interesting answer when asked to name the strangest item he ever caught with a rod and reel.

"I was fishing Lake Greenwood in South Carolina about six years ago and they were actually dragging the lake for a body," the North Carolina pro said. "I hooked a barbecue grill on a crankbait, and as it got closer to the boat I started thinking it might be that body. I was terrified as I was pulling it up. It had this spongy feeling to it and it was real heavy."


So what is everyone else's wierdest catch?

I think my wierdest catch was probably a rock, about the size of a grapefruit, that I hooked with a texas rigged worm on Lake Murray. I mean, how in the world do you hook a rock? lol I had no idea how I ended up doing it but I did, and I even landed it lol

I was crappie fishing once and caught a fishing basket full of live crappie. Someone must lost it shortly before I caught it because the fish were in good condition.

The bumper off an F-150!

The only reason it was so weird was, with my polarized glasses on in the clear water I could actually see that the WHOLE truck was down there. What's weirder is, it was out in the middle of the lake, but it was sitting with the front of the truck pointed right in the air.

It was an 80's F-150 by the looks of it.. but the pond has been there for probably 100 years. LOL The truck is a big mystery! It's not really deep enough for it to have drifted to that spot while sitting vertically like that.

Fishing a texas rigged plastic, I caught a small northen and a small bass at the same time on that single hook, both hooked in the mouth ???

Both on same hook and at same time? Howd that happen? Did one try to swallow the other? That had to be wild!

Neither one was big enough to swallow the other, I think one may have tried to swipe the bait from the other....

Last year, i was fishing mats with a frog... a BIG frogzilla

and it was attacked, and "eaten" by

another, bigger, live frog

hooked it in the mouth.... and incase that isnt weird enough

I unhooked the frog, and threw it back.. it took two kicks and then a 5+ pound largemouth ANNHIALATED it (of course, in a tournament, AFTER i released it)


i should have reeled it in slower...

I was fishing lake erie in a tournament a year or two back, and I snagged into something with my tube dragging a rock pile. It happend to be pair of pants completly covered in zebra muscles.

it would have to be an extra large pop cup from mcdonalds. fishing with my dad off a pier at lake erie hooked it in the top open end towards me and drug it across the bottom for maybe 20 yards kept diging into the bottom everyone was standing around us dad about broke his leg trying to get at the net ,, wow what a laugh we all get from that one now

I hooked into a 100lb dead decomposing stink like all git out spoonbill in a night tournament it was so bad that it would literly gag you thier skin is like leather I like of never got back my super spook. Every time i'd get close to the thing i'd start gagging and have to let go and run to the back of the boat to get some fresh air. My brother-in law took it of for me and I am forever in debted to him.

Recently I caught another plastic worm while fishing. It had swollen up to about a foot long and naybe an inch and a half around. Woke me up about throwing old worms in the lake.

caught about a 3 foot gator on a topwater..he must have been underneath the bait cause he rolled on it like a lunker! i thought i had a 18-19 pound bass i would have loved to see the look on my face when i got him to the shore! cut the line let him have the skitter-pop!

Really would'nt need to see your drawers, the front panel on your pants would have told the story. Personnally, I woulda done like Steve Irwin and got my plug back. Believe tat if you want to.
