I just unhooked my trailer brakes all together this past time home because they kept dragging. I would get to the lake and my driver's side rear trailer tire would sizzle like bacon. We put new pads on there because the pads had separated and were just riding in there. I thought they were causing the drag, but apparently not. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this? I like the idea of having the brakes personally. Thanks in advance.

It can be something as simple as an adjustment issue, or it could be a defective wheel cylinder. Can you upload a photo of the brake assembly with the drum removed? What type/brand of trailer is it? Are you using an electronic brake controller? If so, with the trailer plugged into the tow vehicle test the brake wire on the trailer side for any stray voltage. It is also a good idea to make sure all your grounds are good, remove them and grind to bare metal before reattaching them on both the trailer harness and the tow vehicle harness. A bad ground can send stray voltage all over the place looking for a good path. Anyway, I hope this helps and don't hesitate to email me with more questions, I will be happy to help.

Its a 99 Pantera III boat not sure what the trailer specs are at this moment. I pull with a Titan. It wasn't giving me any problems when I first bought the boat back in March. I am at work right now and can't do the picture thing. But I believe its the traditional drum brake if that helps. I appreciate the help I'll get back with you when I have more info.
