top water miss

When you miss a bite on top water follow up with a worm or a tube to pick the strike back up. I've been using the shakey head worm to do this and it works awsome. I'm not that well versed in the sinko but I'll bet it is a killer.

Good tip Drew. I do the same. I mostly have used tubes for a follow up... but this season I started using flukes for follow ups. It seems sometimes the slower fall of the fluke is what the fish want. Other times that fast falling tube is what they crave.

I tend to do the same but I use a floating worm with a really small split shot weight.
Ive never tried that Tex. How far from the worm do you put the splitshot and what color worm do you like to use most often? I tend to use more whites for my follow up baits.
slow falling senkooooooooooooo works the best for me on my follow ups... i use the 4 inchers on 6 lb flourocarbon.. usually black - this way i can chuck it as far as my topwater went, and i know it will fall straight downward

I use the white as well but I manily go with bright yellow. I will put the split shot up the line a little ways; maybe 8 to 12 inches above the worm. Its seems to me that not much action is taken away when using these distances.
