Does anyone know if a

1995 BASS TRACKER Pro 17 is the same ' design ' as a TRACKER Pro Team 170 TX ?

Or is it a deep V ? or like the pro crappie ?

I found this boat about 30 miles from me, and just curious.

I believe they are very similar. Both are shallow hulled bass boats. However I believe the new trackers have a smoother riding hull with more of a v in them. The TX more than likely also comes with more features and options.

Are you looking to buy the 95 tracker? If the price is good and the transom, engine and lower end are all in good shape... I say go for it :)

Im thinking of it Jared. The price seems pretty good, But dont wanna take a 30 mile ride if it isnt the design I want. Thats why I was asking if it was pretty much designed like the TRACKER Pro Team 170 TX .

It has a Merc 40 on it as well. But The big draw back is I wouldnt have the money for it till next month. ( If I did like it ) I also know the trolling motor probably would need to be upgraded to a larger size.

I will try to call the guy tomorrow and see what info I can get about it.

Heres what the add says ( minus his number and $$ )

BASS TRACKER ‘95 Pro 17, 40hp Mercury, 30 lb trolling motor, fish finder, w/trailer. Good cond.

Cool deal Rodney. Id definitely check it out. Only thing I know for sure is the hull design on the early to mid 90 tracker aluminums gives a bit of a rougher ride than the newer ones. Bryan Kerchal started out on the same thing, except an earlier model. (matter of fact that same boat got him to both classics) It was a decent ride in smooth water but once ya got any type of chop it was pretty bumpy so Id not advise it for rough water situations. It fished very well though. :)

Im not to worried about a rough ride ( might shake some pounds off me lol rofl )
We had some bad storms roll through yesterday, thats why I didnt call about the boat then, but plan on it today.

I just dont wanna get my hopes up knowing I couldnt pay for it till next month.( if I did like it ) Not sure if he would hold it if I gave some ' good faith ' money down on it. Reckon I will find everything out once I talk to him.

Instead of making new threads , figured I'd just keep this post alive while looking. ( I know I shouldnt look until next month as I will lose out once again on a boat lol )

Ok, anyone know what an aluminum Skeeter looks like ? I have ' googled ' it and still cant find a picture of it.

SKEETER 18’, aluminum, w/trailer, loaded, 90hp Yamaha motor, very low hrs

what year is it? if its a newer year (2000+) its pretty similiar to the triton aluminums. Both are very well designed, especially the Skeeter. And it goes without say that a skeeter is a better boat than the tracker :)

It didnt say the year in the ad. But I was looking up prices and for example, a 1995 is more then the guy is asking on this.
Next month cant get here fast enough for me lol. I hate looking at these boats just to see them get sold before I can act upon them.

Well, I got the $$ and cant find a boat now , aint that the way things go ::)

I called a few ads I seen just to have them tell me its been sold a few days ago. Got mad at one place ( was a dealership ) told them they needed to update their website then !!

O well, the $$ hopefully aint going no where and I will keep pounding the advertisements till I stumble across what I am looking for. ) plus keeping an eye out while im driving around.

( At least a 17' aluminum ( tracker style .. not deep v ) with a min of 40 hp ... Ohh and not NEW ;D )

Ive looked at a few now, but didnt care for them for one reason or another.I even went to Ocala looking at one ( 50 miles away )

Me and Al ( tournament director for our club ) suppose to go off tomorrow looking at boats. He said he knew a few places that isnt advertised.

I even seen one at a local used car lot yesterday . Its a ' smoker craft ' with a 60 johnson. The gate was locked, so I will swing by there today to get a close up view of it etc...

Well, I may be purchasing the Smoker Craft. Its a 2001, 17' aluminum with a livewell up front and in the rear. Its got a 50 Johnson not 60 like I thought. It also has a minn kota t/m ( forget the thrust ) foot control . A Lowrance X29.

Ive gone and looked at it 3 times already as it is about 2 miles away. Im suppose to go tomorrow for a test drive in it.IF its up to pare I will be coming home with a boat. ( Knocking on wood it works out )

Heres the N.A.D.A. info

Well, I am now the owner of this 2001, 17' smokercraft. :dance01:

Al and I went this morning for a test ride in it and everything seemed to work ok on it. I wanted Al there so I wouldnt get screwed . With him owning boats for a long time I feel he knows what to look and listen for.

Only thing im not crazy about is the trolling motor. Its only a 30# thrust BUT the dern foot control is super big ( high ) I will most definatly be replacing that down the road. I will be getting the one that you can add a ' hot foot ' too and the extension bar.

Ive seen others load and unload boats piles of time but when you got to do it on your own and never doing it before, its quite comical. I bet I got out of my truck 10 times to make sure I wasnt going off the side of the ramp while backing in . Then loading it. First I was to deep then to shallow. I finaly said the heck with this and just wenched it on. :dunno:

Im sure withen a week or two I will be an ole pro at it  ( at least I hope so ) :boing:

I will take some pictures of it later and post it here.
