What do yall think about the new Team Daiwa Viento with the twitchin' bar? Do you think it is something worth investing in??

I had a conversation with a friend of mine about this very reel, as I thought that it would be neat to try. However, he verified that the location of the twitchin' bar is in a bad location, especially for how I hold the reels. I place my thumb in the location that the bar is located, when setting the hook. Therefore, if I did that, there is the chance that I could hit the bar and pull the lures from the fish.

With that being in the back of my mind, I have decided to stay away from it. LOL I am going to stick with Shimanos.

I've played around with them a while and they are an awesome reel! That feature is pretty cool!

I think I'm going to invest the money into it. If I like it I like it if not then I will sell it to whoever.

I picked one up in March and I like it. The real is smooth, it casts great and for soft plastic the twitch bar is a real wonder. No more guessing on how far I twitched the bait, it picks up 4" of line each time you depress the bar.

I have slow twitched and fast twitched and have increased my catch rate.

I like this real a lot. Best money I have spent on a real IMHO.

they are pretty cool....i used to do shows for daiwa. but the td fuego is probably the best reel on the market for that price range.

I was wondering if anyone know wether this seris of reels is gonna be continued? I am really thinking of buying one of these reals but I'm sure the minute i drop the $$ they will have somthing hotter come out or discontinue the reel totally. Drew

I am wondering about the diawa reels in general, myself. Are they worth the money? I have always used shimano and bass pro, and quantum since they came out with the pt series holds up well. I was looking at a fuego, mainly because it is so light, but I despise when gears strip. I had a pflueger strip out within a month of buying it, and that was the last straw between me and shakespeare.

I used to use the team diawas but I had a hell of a time with the pinion gears stripping in them. I think it was mostly my fault for engageing the reel before it had came to a complete stop. but i'm not sure.
