As if things couldn't get worse, they do. Had a Tuesday night tourney on Lake Tarpon tonight from 6pm to 9:30pm. Caught my first 4 fish without a problem, then I got out of my groove to help another boater who lost battery power. After attempting to help them get the motor started, it went to heck after that.

I broke off my 5th fish, around 4 to 5lbs and it was my fault because I was using braid and hadn't retied my hook from the last tourney I had... dummy me.

Then, at around 8pm my trolling motor rope broke, the shaft clamp was froze on and couldn't get it broken loose. I worked on it for an hour trying everything to get it broke loose. Finally got it loose and retied the pull cord and remounted the trolling motor with just enough time to make it back in for weigh in.

I loaded the boat onto the trailer, opened the livewell to get out my 4 fish and 2 are belly up dead, friggin great! Well, my 4 fish went 8.10lb's and with my 2lb penalty I got 6.10lb. The 8.10lb would have been good for 5th, but.....

Just not a good evening at all. I started off the season with a 2nd place finish and thought I would have a good year but since that 2nd, something has gone wrong in every tourney since then. Maybe it's time to hang it up and go find something else to piss away my money on. I'm tired of donating cash.

I know that feeling .I've had some of those deals and they are discouraging. I will usually cure that by making my next few fishing trips just for fun. No tournaments,No tournament pre-fishig,and no pressure. Just for the fun

I hate it when do_do happens. I am fearful for your health and if you fix the livewells I will take the boat off your hands to make sure this type of stress does not enter into you life again.

BTW, I hope the guy you helped with the electrical problems did not finish in front of you :cool1:

All in all a good showing

Joe, I know what you are feeling. Last Saturday I had a miserable day/night myself and afterwards it was gut check time.

But you know what? Life is more then a single fishing tourney or evening. Thank God for moments like that to help us remember who we are. If everything was easy we would not have any character at all.

Hang in there and remember cream always rises my friend.
