I remember previewing the Spro BBZ-1 Shad here at the Bassholes a couple years ago before it offered to the public.
Jared got a hold of some before they hit the market.
I think we used it in one of the Share-a-Bait programs.
This lure had an awesome action and a very life-like quality in the water.
There are a couple different models on the market. I think we used the 4" sinking model and there is also an 8" Fast Sinking model and a floating one as well.
This lure was mentioned in the North American Fisherman magazine Oct/Nov issue 2008. In there is an article titled "Best of the Best, Top Tackle Picks For 2009." It was designed by NAFC Life Member Bill Siemantel. It says this Bait looks and swims like a real shad.
They were right.
Key features are:

Extremely sharp hooks. Gamakatsu #2, 2x strong treble hook.
Super durable fin and tail section.
Counter balanced pin segments that make the lures look alive.
Realistic swimming action.
4 Incredible lifelike finishes
The lifelike action of the BBZ comes from the counter balanced pin segments in the joints. This joint system allows the BBZ to swim with a natural motion.

Though they may be a little pricey with the 4" at $ 19.95 and the
8" at $34.99, they may be a welcome addition to your tackle box.
