skippin tubes

I love to skip tubes up under docks and I like to use a bait caster because it handles heavier line better and I feel like I have more horse power to yank them out, but you can't imagine the hellifyied backlashes you must endure. I learned a neat trick that helps fight the backlash. When you're skippin its a lot like flippin and pitchin small distances.I like to cast out a length of line i'll be fishing and place a piece of electrical tape over the spool on the reel. This keeps my backlashes to a minimum and once you have a few backlashes and your line gets a kink in it just strip off the length of line and do it again that way you don't have to take the time to re- line your reel.
