I dont have all the details yet but this morning on WISTV news I heard a report about a business at Charleston Port that was expanding to Orangeburg to relieve some of the pressure and traffic there. They said that this would be done by barges being piloted up Cooper River and through Lake Marion.
I have no idea exactly how thsi is possible but the thought of industrial traffic on Santee Cooper makes me mad as hell. When I hear the word Industrial I cant help but think of polution, disregard for habitat and a mess of other negative affects. I plan on looking deeper into this.
