Wow they are catching some SERIOUS hawgs on Santee this week! On Day 1 there have already been 5 stringers over 30 pounds a piece including Preston Clark's leading stringer of 39lbs 6oz which is the 3rd heaviest stringer ever weighed in at BASS event!!
They are saying that it is very possible that Santee will break all the records set at Lake Amistad earlier this month!

If all goes well I am headed down there to watch the final weigh-in. I will bring back some good pictures :)

Seems like BASS did themselves good when they moved the Classic to earlier in the season and now it looks like they did themselves good by having the Southern Swing this early in the season.

I just hope that a deserving angler wins. ;D

BASS has always fished Santee this time of year. Its great that they are catchin such huge bags,,, but just once Id love to see them hit Santee in like July or August when Santee is at her toughest.

I agree, I would love to see them hit any of the lakes during the summer. It would serve as a testament to just how tough the bodies of water are after the pressure of the year and the heat cause the majority of the bass population to move deep.

Did you see the weigh-in board today? It's unreal the stringers that they are bringing in!

Is this tournament over? I saw part of it on ESPN around 2:30 this morning and I do believe it was a rerun. It showed that the leader had 93. something ounces and they were fishing the final day. I never did see the winner of course I feel asleep mid-way through.
