Well, I'm guess my new G Loomis Mossyback will be here in a week or so. I wish it would hurry up. I was also thinking how when it get's here, it would be nice to put a new reel on it. I figured since I am now finally permanently employed with a company I LOVE and working with people I love just as much, I can afford to be a little frivalous this week and buy a new reel.
I have spent the past week reading about this reel and that reel, checking prices here and there. Yet when it was all said and done I decided to go with the BEST spinning reel I have ever had the pleasure of using, and buy another Daiwa SS1600.
I bought my first one back in about 92 or 93 and all I have ever done was clean it and oil it each season. It works as good today as it did the day I first spooled it up... silent and smooth with a drag that is second to none. figure with a track record like that I couldn't go wrong, especially at only 89 bucks
It will be here by Thursday the 15th just in time for my tournament on Santee. Hopefully my Loomis will be here by then too. Crazy or not, if my loomis isnt here but the reel is, I am leaving the reel in the box until it's partner arrives
Again, a huge thank you to everyone who chipped in to help me get the rod and reel.
Of course you needed a new reel, Jared. It just wouldn't do to match a brand new G Loomis with a beat up old reel. Congrats on your new combo. May it catch a fish for every dollar spent on it. :-*
