Pond fishin, again

I went to a small retainage pond near the BJ's store on Merritt Island, FL Friday afternoon for a hour & half. I had two Gar try to eat my Senko and caught one bass almost two pounds.
Sunday morning I went to the pond behind my buddies place in Titusville for 3 hours and caught about a dozen bass between 1 and 2 1/2 lbs. all on different colored senko's / weightless - t-rigged, red shad being the most productive. I missed one on a spinnerbait and had three others get off while I was goofing off letting them run around and gave them slack. This was interesting how very Little slack it took for them to get off and how easily the hook just simply fell out of their mouth.
One of their family members came out to fish with me and he caught one on a purple Gulp sinking minnow, then after he got frustrated how many fish I was catching I rigged him a senko, put some Mega Strike on it, and first cast he caught another about 1 1/2 lbs.
I also ended up wading in to retrieve a crank bait (Lucky Craft) that I hung on some rope in 3 1/2 feet of water, that ended my day as I was soaked.
That really beat last minute shopping!

Sounds like you had a lot of fun. It doesn't hurt to get wet once in awhile for your lure. I had to wade into the creek to get mine a couple of times.
I feel you guys!!!! I have gone wading plenty of times for lures. I have a 12yr old and a 9 yr old. I have gone after everything from lures to rods. LOL!! Still sounds like you caught alot of fish and that's all that matters.

I was lucky it wasn't freezing cold like up North and also lucky there aren't any gators in that pond, just a bunch of turtles. About a month ago my son threw his rod in and I was fortunate to snag the line with a rattl-trap, I don't think I could wade that deep, that would have been diving!
There are a few other ponds near that BJ's I am going to figure out how to get to them, I need a kayak.

Pond fishing can be fun at times. Do you ever go at night? Sometimes in pinds that is the best time to go. I might have to check out some of those during the week. There are a few off of hwy 95 that look pretty cool. 1 in particular is the pond on the west side of 95 at the 518 intersection. Looks like it has a boat ramp on it. Has anyone fished that pond before?

Thanks.
Keith, I've not hit any of the ponds along 95 yet but I know some guys who have and they said there are fish in most all of them. I see people fishing the ponds in towards Orlando on the 528 Beeline Expressway too. Good luck and let me know if you hit any of them.
As far as night fishing, I haven't done that in years since I was back North.
