You can save those individual strands. First lay all the strands together where the matchup lenghtwise. Next pinch them together and wrap a small piece of masking tape around them. Now put another piece of masking tape at one end in the shape of a point. You can roll a skirt collar up over the pointy end of the skirt and you are set. Otherwise buy or borrow a Naked bait skirt expander which can accomplish the same thing.
