Looks tempting
The Live Pointers are so deadly here at Santee Cooper that you cant fish them really, atleast if you're fishing for money. Reason being is that EVERYTHING eats them in a heartbeat. That fact alone makes me wonder how potent these new Live LVRs will be.
I checked out these at the cabellas website and they have a good selection. Do you really think that they are worth the $20.00 per lure though? I have bought 2 of the lipless baits from them and am looking forward to using them but am also hesitant to buy more because if they do not produce I dont want to waste any more cash. What are your thoughts?
Well, to be honest, I was very skeptical about buying any lucky crafts a couple years ago. Then one day I was fishing with an old business partner and we were in some pretty clear water. He had an RC 1.5 tied and if i didnt see it with my own eyes Id have never believed it... but... he was bringing the bait back to the boat... at that same moment a bass came by chasing a bait fish.. I could clearly see both fish... my buddies bait passed by the bass from the opposite direction and the bass instantly ignored the live fish and did a 180 and went for the lucky craft! I was blown away!

I now have a few lucky craft LOL Id own A LOT more if I could afford to so my answer is yes, they are worth every penny you pay and I am guessin these new ones will be no different.
I have no problem plunking down 15 bucks for a Pointer, but I can't see that kind of money for a rattltrap. The original works for me. Let me know if they are worth it, though. The bait monkey will not stay in his cage forever. :D

similair experience here, got my butt kicked hard 8 (quality fish) to 0 my partner was using a pointer , i had a husky jerk. i went out after the tourney and bought some. worth every penny. instead of having everything under the sun , now I have a few less expensive baits that always work.

Since this thread is kinda old has anyone used those lipless cranks? Unless someone gives me one I do not plan on spending $20 for a lipless crankbait ever. Just too many available in the $6-$10 range that are AWESOME fish catchers to go and spend $20.

I wish there was a way to scientifically test a baits effectiveness compared to another bait. That would be an eye opening study for sure. My guess is that it would hurt the big high dollar bait companies more than the middle of the pack ones.
Often wonder the same thing. although, I must admit I have a couple Lobino Ricos and a couple of those RC 1.5. My Lobinos have out fished my Pop Rs. Coincidence? I dunno.
