Well, the NBA Finals are set, and I have no clue who the "favorite" team is to win. A lot said that since Dallas had eliminated San Antonio, that they should be the favorites, but Miami just eliminated Detroit. Detroit and San Antonio were a lot of people's pre-season picks for the Finals.

Now, I am a huge Heat fan, especially since Shaq Daddy came to South Beach. Oh Lord, Rodney is going to love this...........a Georgia boy that actually likes a Florida team...............must be the weather. LOL

I say that Miami will win the series in 6 games, 4-2, and they will win their first championship. I will go even farther and say that they will repeat next year.

It's great to have two teams who are in their first finals appearance ever. I also give the edge to Miami, since they have more veterans on the team who have had playoff and finals experience. Shaq Daddy did win 3 rings with that fellow from LA. ;)

I didn't get the chance to watch much of the regular season for Miami, since they don't show the games up here. However, I have only missed 1 game in the playoffs for the Heat, and it was the came they won to beat Detroit :-[

And the other game I missed last night, when Dallas sent Nash and Marion packing, along with the rest of the Suns. :-\

So, I am definitely going to watch all the games for the Finals. ;D

I thought we were all better than that. So much for going way back. LOL ;D

The finals will go all the way to game 7. To much money involved.

Dallas had the weaker conference to deal with. The Eastern Conference had better teams in it.

Between Dwayne Wade, Shaq, Jason William, Gary Payton, and the rest of the boys, Miami will beat Dallas like a drum.

As one analyst put it, Dirk can score 50 one night, and the night before only score 13. There is no consistency in Dallas' defense or offense.

And you have to remember that the NBA is still dealing with Kobe/Shaq. Everyone wants to show Kobe that Shaq was the part of the team that got him his championships.

Dallas doesn't have a prayer in this series. ;D

You have been smoking to much crack and drinking too much of that cheap beer. :cooldude3: LOL Shaq is one of the best players that the NBA has ever seen but age is getting to him. :eek:ld: Dallas has more young players that will turn circles around the Heat. The players are begining to break down for the Heat. The only chance that they have is D. Wade. He is also a great player but won't get it done by himself.

You must remember that Dallas beat San Antonio which was the number 1 team in the NBA. They said nobody could contain Tim Duncan and Dallas shut him down just like they will Shaq. Good luck to the Heat because they will need it. LOL

That heat in Texas must have boiled some of your brain cells.  Did you even watch any of the games that the Heat played against Detriot, which was the pre-season favorites to beat San Antonio?  Shaq was averaging 20 pts. a game, and Wade was down in Game 6.  Jason Williams stepped up, and scored 21 pts.  Shaq is in the same shape that he was when he first went to LA.

Dallas has no veterans that will get them over the hump.  Everyone knows that the Eastern Conference was the stronger conference.  We had Chicago, which was a sleeper team, New Jersey who has two of the best players in the game with Kidd and Carter, we have Detroit which were the favorites to win the whole enchilada, and we have Miami, who has the experience and the youth to beat Dallas.

Oh wait, I forgot, Dallas has Dirk that hums that David Hasselhoff song that was #1 for 8 weeks in Germany.  My bad.  That's the only person on Dallas that I can name, besides Mark Cuban, who complains about every loss that Dallas has ever suffered, and continually blames the refs.  Wonder what his excuse is going to be this time?

Oh yea, and I need I mention Pat Riley and the experience that he brings to game for the Heat?  Avery Johnson was a so-so player and is a so-so coach.  Is Avery Johnson a hall of fame coach?  I didn't think so.

Miami is a better team, a more experienced team, and will win the championship.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I do hope that you know that this is all in fun. I mean no offense to anything that I say. It's going to be a great series, and both teams should be proud of themselves. ;)

I do know that this is all in fun and games. I take no offense in what you claim. I do hear that the lack of catching bass can mess with a persons mind and cause him to make unreasonable claims such as the ones that you just posted. LOL

We will see what happens in game 1 this Thursday.

I am very serious when I ask this question and I mean no harm by it so here it goes....Does Georgia have a NBA team???

Um, yea.  They are called the Atlanta Hawks.   >:D  It's not like any Texas team (besides the Longhorns) have any claim to fame.  Unless you wanna claim that being the pawn that loses to the Chicago White Sox is a claim to fame.  Looks like the curse of the Black Sox is finally over, thanks to the Houston Astros.

Oh, and it seems that the Rocket might wanna be traded away from the Astros.  Wonder why?  Them getting to the World Series last year was a major fluke.

And bringing up the Hawks isn't going to score any points. I don't like the Hawks at all, and I can't name a single player on the team. ;D So, no sense in bringing them up.

Dallas Cowboys ( holds the most Superbowl appearences), Texas Rangers, Texas A&M, Texas Longhorns, Texas Tech, Dallas Mavricks, San Antonio....need I go on.

Keep trying.

For the record, I would love to see Shaq win a championship but I also would love to see Dallas take it as well. To bad Shaq and Dallas won't come together.

When was the last time ANY of those teams won a championship? >:D Nuff said.

And you can't include the Mavericks as a great team. This is their first time in the Finals, just like the Heat.

You don't have to be in the finals to be a great team. It also doesn't matter when the last time that those teams have won a championship, What matters is that they did and have done it many, many times. California is the only state that can come close to Texas as far as championships. No other state can compare to these two states when it comes to championships won. Texas will rise again like it always does.

I'm not knocking the Heat. They have a power house and I believe that this will be a great NBA final. I give credit where credit is due. The Heat is a great team just like the Mavricks. You can't take anything from these two teams.

Well, Dallas took the first game. Dallas didn't play very well and still won by 10 points. That should say something about there team. Great job and I hope that they keep it up.

By the way, if Shaq could hit his free throws then I think that they could have taken the first game. He went 0 for 9 before he finally hit his only free throw. Wow

And Dwayne Wade also missed a few. His illness was still getting to him. If Dallas keeps playing like they did in the first game, it will be over in 5 Games, cause we all know that Miami is going to come back and play better.

I see that your still drinking that cheap beer. LOL I have no doubt that Miami will play better and I know that we are not going to play that illness card. If I recall correctly, some of the main Dallas players were out or sick while they played San Antonio and they still won. I don't think this will be a sweep on Dallas behalf but you are right about one thing, it will be over in game 5

Dallas- 4
Miami- 1

I know that everything is bigger in Texas, but that wishing well needs to shrink just a little. Miami played like a sorry high school team in the first game, and lost by 10 points, which, if Wade and Shaq would have hit more of their FTs, and if they would have got the ball to Shaq a lot more instead of trying to play for the 3 pt. shot all the time, Dallas would have lost.

That is the way that Dallas has played in all of their series. I know, I have watched all of the Dallas games, except for the last game where they actually made it to the Finals............which is a fluke in itself.

In Game 2, you will see Shaq as a more dominate player, and the Heat as a team will not be going for the 3 pt. shot all the time. Wade is going to be in better health, which is going to be a headache for Dallas.

And as for saying that Dallas won't play the health card............we all know that pro sports teams lie about the state of their players, for a distraction for the other team. Not saying that Dallas did the same thing, but if ANY of the players would have had the flu, you would have seen a dramatic drop off in their ability to play. You try to play basketball after having the flu, the next time you have it, and come tell me how great you feel.

If you knew more about basketball as you do fishing then I would think you had something going for you. You are way out of your league here. LOL Dallas is picked to win the whole series but I guess you already knew that. LOL

If Wade and Shaq did this and would have done that then this might have happened. Please, thats a joke. Shaq is a dominating player but just not when it comes to Dallas. Miami can't handle that 3 front defense.

Do a little more research on basketball and then come back ya hear. Just let me know when you need to be schooled some more on basketball and I will leave the fishing to you. Have a nice day.

Ok, I will be the first to admit that Miami got dominated in this game tonight. ::) Not sure what Riley was trying to do, but whatever it was, it didn't work.

3 games in South Beach will be fun. ;D

Miami sure got lucky last night. I think Shaq ended up with a little over 10 pts. On the other hand Wade did pretty well.

Dallas should have put this one away. They had every opportunity.

Let's see. Miami just beat the Dallas Mavericks, 4 games to 2 games.

I will give props to Dallas, but they just didn't have the experience needed to win the championship.

Just wonder what Mark Cuban is going to complain about in this game? The officials? That seems to be the same card that he pulls out, ALL THE TIME.

Rodney, congrats to the state of Florida for having yet another world championship! ;)
