County officials on Wednesday will host a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of a $350,000 renovation project to the Arnold Brothers Boat Ramp on State Road 19 north of Groveland.

The ramp gives boaters direct access to the Palatlakaha River. It is being repaired, and amenities will be added to include a 200-foot boardwalk, a pavilion with picnic tables and a new parking lot.

County officials predict the project will take six months to complete.

Wednesday's ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the ramp, 15945 State Road 19. Because the site is partially undeveloped, guests are encouraged to wear appropriate footwear. They are also encouraged to carpool because of the lack of parking.

A bus departing from the round courthouse in downtown Tavares will be available to take guests to the site. To reserve a seat, call 352-742-0992.

Well, its reopened now and I am dissapointed big time !!
They should of widened the ramp as it is kinda narrow. They have the parking lot set-up now that only 6 or 7 boat trailors can be there.( have the spaces painted out ) The other spaces are for people that just ' bank fish '
Its gonna be interesting to say the least about pulling in there and trying to back to the ramp. The room to do it just isnt there now.

I think Florida in general is clueless on how to build proper boat ramps and facilities. Most of the lakes I have been too the boat launch sites are a joke. I am not sure why this is the case but it is. I think it is worse in north Florida. Some sites have awesome facilities with plenty of access the way it should be and other sites are like launch at your own risk sort of thing or like you said accommodate less then 10 trailers.
I will have to go one day and take some pictures of this place. We once held a tournament there, but there is no way to do it now. ( unless there was about 6 boats )
