Lake Arthur is in Moraine State Park in Butler County, located 50 miles north of Pittsburgh in northwestern Pennsylvania along PA Route 422 near the crossroads of I-80 and I-79. To access the South Shore Recreation Area, take the South Shore Exit along PA Route 422. To access the North Shore from PA Route 422 heading west, take the North Shore Exit. There is no direct access to the North Shore from PA Route 422 heading east. To access the North Shore from PA Route 422 East, take the South Shore Exit, return to PA Route 422 West, and take the North Shore Exit.
