I have a pair of the Torsions, and they are great rods. I wish that they would have had a little weight in the butt, cause it would be great for flipping and pitching then.
If you treat it right, it should last you a long time. Was it still $18 at Wal-Mart? That's how much I paid for each of mine.
I guessing that it's a casting rod? If it's a spinning rod, you may have problems with the blank after a while. Seems that Quantum made it one piece through the handle, and that if the bond that holds the rod in place is broken, you can swivel it around. LOL It's honestly a pain.
However, if it is a casting rod, you should have a good rod to last a long time, and when you upgrade, you will have a great catfishing rod. 8)
