LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 3.4 FEET, 85 DEGREES AND CLEAR

Bass fishing is barely fair. With the water temperature holding in the 80's, bass will move to deeper water to find good oxygen. Finding the higher oxygen levels will be the key in catching a good limit. The ten to fifteen foot range is a good place to concentrate your fishing this week. Some bass are even being caught in twenty foot of water during the afternoon hours. Expect early morning Bass to move up on the rocky points and along the banks. Top water baits and crank baits will catch these fish early. By mid day, the bass will move to deeper cover and Carolina Rigs and slow moving jerk baits and Shad Raps will be necessary ammunition to get a good strike. Find the small isolated humps and steep drop offs and ledges during the heat of the day. The evening hours will bring bass up to shallow water to feed. Use the Ito Vision 110, Shad Raps, Bandits along with Carolina rig with the soft plastics to catch a good limit this week. Main lake points still remain the favorite places to fish.
