LAKE RUSSELL IS DOWN 9 INCHES, 85 DEGREES AND CLEAR

Bass fishing is slow for sizes but there small bass are feeding on tiny top water baits like a Pop R or a baby Zara Spook. If you are putting in at 72 bridge, run up into the rivers locating as many small pockets as you can. Start off the morning with a 1/4 or 3/8 ounce buzz bait and use this bait as far back into the pocket as you can and repeat this several times. Follow any missed strikes up with a Lucky Craft Redemption spinner bait or a Texas rigged green pumpkin worm. Mid morning concentrate on the main channel points that drop off into deep water. Use a Carolina rigged four inch dead ringer worm by Zoom in green worm on light line and work it slow around these points. By mid day if you still want to fish in the heat a drop shot rig in 30 feet of water is the only thing these bass will hit. Locate stumps on your Lowrance and fish light 6 pound test and a tiny Bass Trix minnow.
