Ike signs with Bass Cat

Thanks for the info.
Basscats are nice boats that need name recognition. Ike is an idiot who could outfish anybody in this forum. If Ike can actually spend an entire year on the trail without making a fool of himself and his sponsors, they will have made a good deal. I can't see it happening...

Wow strong words.

This might blow up....
people have there own thoughts about things and they can talk about people even if they don't know them. This is America.
The idiot is the angler of the year! No such thing as bad publicity. I was on the bubble weather or not I liked Mike I kept walking by his book in wally world and finally I stoped and checked it out I bought and read it. It changed my opinion of him. I think he exposed BASS to the public which I'm sure they didn't appreciate. Its a good read. I too don't care for all his antics, I have mixed emotions about the fit he through at the classic. I think his emotions got the best of him and he regrets it, Thus 2006 angler of the year.
Except for possible tournament penalties I think Mike is beyond what Ranger did to him. I bet they wish they had him back, though I doubt they would admit it openly. The deal is sort of like Mike Tyson or Cassius Clay (AKA Muhammad Ali). I figure the great majority of boxing fans pretty much hated both but spent millions watching them fight their challengers, hoping someone would beat either to a pulp.

Even when Fraiser won the second fight against Ali he walked away with broken jaw and beat to heck, Ali still got most of the news written about him not Joe. Look at them today,,, Joe who??? Looks like Ike is also trying give something back to the sport also as he is going to fish the Teambass_usa tourney this season,, proceeds from that trail go to chrildrens hospitals, So to all that judge and do not know him maybe they should sit back and hold all that hate in a different direction and let's see how much good he will do this season.
I never knocked his fishing skill. He has won the classic and AOY, so for me to say he wasn't a good fisherman would be a documentable lie. On the other hand, yelling his lungs out-I can see it when you catch the classic winning fish, but not every time. Even a dink.YEAAAHH! It's highly annoying. Also, people who followed him at the Pittsburg classic documented his fishin in no fishing areas, and after the incident with the flag, I'm through with him. He could be the next KVD, if he ever developed a little class. See my previous prediction.
Joe Frazier is da MAN. I admire that fellow. He was and is a hero in my mind. But Tyson was and still is an ear biting thug. Ali lost his mind from all the brain rattling he took, and never rose above that unsportsmanlike arrogance. He's just mellowed out now from brain damage.

I'm happy for Bass Cat.  Ike can be a pain in the butt and loved and hated at the same time, but he rebounded last year from his tantrum to winning Angler of the Year and for that he deserves credit for his accomplishments.  I hope he will represent Bass Cat with class.  When I sold my flatbottom and moved "up" to a real bass boat a year ago, being a man of small means and less cash, I bought a 1988 Bass Cat with a 1989 120hp Johnson.  To say the least, I was concerned because I didn't have a lot of dollars for repairs at the time.  The boat has been fantastic and the motor has not given me an instant of grief.  If I ever have a chance to buy a newer rig, the first thing I'll look at is a Bass Cat.  Since I usually go into shock when I look at new boat prices and have to be revived with an adult beverage to function again, I figure it will be another used one.  And right now, the heavy weight division could sure use a Joe or an Ali or anyone who can bring back the ole glory days :fight01:

I've got a 1990 johnson120 it is one of the best moters I have ever owned and it is great on gas! My buddy has a basscat he goes to the basscat tourny every year in mountianhome Ark. they really vaule their customers they take care of all the little things that need repaired. I will definately give them my consideration the next boat I buy.
I have been impressed with the gas usage of my Johnson too.  When I got it I figured it would guzzle the fuel like crazy but have been very happy with the running results.  I hope to make it to Mt. Home this year but I'll just have to see.  I understand they really treat you right when you get up there and it looks like the entire event is a blast. :D
