How to Make Your Own Soft Edible Bass Bait

Bass anglers use a variety of hard and soft lures in pursuit of the popular game fish. A visit to a local sporting goods store will typically provide dozens of different lures designed to attract and entice a bass to strike. However, some may decide to make their own bait for bass fishing in an effort to save money and produce bait that is biodegradable. Effective soft edible bass bait can be made using a recipe that is often effective on a wide variety of game fish.InstructionsDifficulty: Easy

Step 1 Cut the crust edge off several pieces of sliced white bread. Place the bread on a cutting board or other surface when cutting.

Step 2 Distribute four to five drops of anise oil evenly onto a slice of bread.

Step 3 Sprinkle garlic salt evenly across the surface of the sliced bread.

Step 4 Fold the bread in half and press down firmly. Position the folded bread between your hands in the palms and begin to kneed and work the bread into dough. Continue rolling and working the bread to thoroughly incorporate the anise oil and garlic salt throughout the dough.

Step 5 Roll the edible bass bait dough into a tight ball and place in a plastic storage bag with a zip closure. Place this bag inside a second bag if necessary to prevent the aroma of the anise oil and garlic from escaping. Store the dough in a refrigerator for up to two weeks. .Article
