My brother-in-law, Jacob, and I went fishing around 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm at a private lake.  We did quit well considering the weather and water level.  Jacob caught one that weighted over 6 lbs and ended up boating 3 with the smallest being around 2 lbs.  I ended up catching 7 with the biggest being 4.5 and the smallest being around 2 lbs.  I forgot the camera in his truck and we didn't have a livewell to put the bass in so we just released them as we caught them.  Next time there will be pictures of these bass, maybe some video footage.  I'm still working on my camera ordeal.  Don't ask!!!   LOL

Anyway, it was a good day with quality fish.

By the way, the baits that we were using were---
1.) Buzzbaits
2.) Devil Horse
3.) Tiny Torpedo

Rodney, according to the radars over the last couple of days, you all were getting rain and storms. ??? We got some much needed rain around here, and we could use some more. It seems that the rains that pushed through finally got the bass to be active on Chickamauga. A friend of mine went fishing up there, with a friend of his, and they got into some good bass. They said that they got 17, with the best five being around 22 lbs. They got like 4 4 lbs. bass, and then a 5.5 lbs. bass. On the Chick, that's a HUGE stringer for this time of year!

Tex had told me about his trip, and I have to say that's a good trip for anyone in the summer time, especially in the deep South like we are in. Keep it up.

Don't let the radars down here fool you. I was sitting outside yesterday and you could see the rain clouds come in and then split, go around us, and then get back together like they were before it reached us. Everyplace to the north and south of Linden, Where I live, got a little rain. But like I stated in another post, one of my ponds is 8 to 9 feet LOW. So all in all, some of the places around here are hurting for some rain.

I hadn't paid that much attention to the TX radars. :p From all accounts of what happened on the Chick two nights ago, we might have had a derecho come through TN. They said that a storm was seen on the west side of the lake, but that it came barrelling through at a rapid rate of speed, causing massive amounts of rain to fall, high winds to be seen (which in turned caused some monster wave action), and it also produced some spectacular lightning and thunder.

I know that the rains that we got here aren't enough, and we could use more rain.

However, the grapes here in Georgia are starting to turn, and they don't start turning here until the first "cold" snap of August. So, my grandmother believes that we are going to have an early fall, and so does my Mom.

I hope that we do. We actually had a great spring............the first in many years...............so maybe we are actually going to have a fall as well.
