I will send the winner of each type bass listed one of my custom hair jigs. Please give the lake, year and month caught, each basses weight, if known and with your story of the catch. Pictures if you are willing to post them.
Example; northern LMB, 45 1/2 lbs, lake Casitas CA, February 8th 1971. Having a tough day and just started making a run on major points before leaving the lake to try a catch one good bass. Using a smoke Action Worm (ring type worm with curl tail) trailer on a spider jig, caught the 12 1/4, then a 7 1/2, 9, 8 3/4, and 8, just before the patrol boat kicked me off the lake as they where closing.
Florida LMB, 69 lbs, lake Castaic CA, March 3rd 1991. Windy, rainy, cold day, only a few trailers in the parking lot. First stop was Ball point and caught a 9.2, the wind pick up and decided to go up the ski arm around 9 AM, stopped at what I now call the "old folks home". Caught 11.3, 15.1, 13.2, 12 and 17.4, all on BLK/PUR/BRN hair jig with pork trailer, that I will send to the winners. No big limits of spots or smallies, missed the lake Perris run of spots and few smallies over 5 lbs form Canada.
Tom
Ps; I'm not eligible, so don't count my limits.

Wow Tom! That was a MASSIVE sack of bigguns! I can only dream of a bag like that! My best 5 lb bag went over 20 but I cant remember the number. My best for smallies was around 16 if I recall correctly but again, I cant remember the numbers. Tis ok though, I'd rather see a Bassholes member win the jigs than myself :D
California doesn't keep official records for 5 bass limits, I believe this one is up there in the top 5. Just need to be at the right place at the time and stay until the bass stop biting. Most fisherman catch a bass of a life time and run back to the marina to show it off, thats what I did with my first big bass.

Looks like there is very little interest in this post. I do not sell my jigs and only have given away a few to close friends over the years, however will send each person (5) who did respond a hair jig if they want one. If you send your mailing address to Jared and Jared emails me his address, I will ship him the jigs along with the needed postage.

I haven't ever had FIVE!!! :cry01:
You have never caught a 5 bass limit!, we need to work on that. Do you own a spinning outfit, medium/fast that can handle 8 lb mono? I will send you a bag of worms, hooks, weights and the instructions how to use them.
Tom
Ps; Jigs take lots of concentration and heavyier tackle, lets get 5 bass first.

Thank you oldschool! Thank you a lot. I didn't read all of the posts so I didn't know I had qualified for a prize. This is great! Now, will this help me get a five fish bag??? :thumbup01:
This is not related to the heaviest 5 bass post, just want you to catch a limit. Need to know what type of lakes you fish and if you are fishing from a boat and what state. If Jared has your address I will send the package to hime for you.

Just saw this post. My heaviest weight is actually 4 bass. Never got the 5th that day. I was fishing Lake Fork with a friend and using a Johnson white spinnerbait. I caught a 7lb bass then moments later I caught a 8.5lb bass then a few casts later I caught another 7.5lb bass then a little while later I caught a 3.5lb bass. for a total of 26.5lbs.

I have also caught 20lb+ sacks a few times. But nothing like Tom has caught.

Best Smallmouth sack would probably be 12lbs? I caught 30 smallies one day in Colorado on Pueblo Reseroir. All on twin tail grubs. That was fun.
Thats a great day on the water. I should have been more patient with the offer and will give it more time, however will send the jigs promised. With several hundred members I thought we would have more responses.

Bumped this old thread up to answer the question; "heaviest 5 bass limit"
I believe 72 lbs is the heaviest California 5 bass limit caught by Bill Murphy and John Lockwood trolling custom CD18 trout Rapalas on lake San Vincente, near San Diegio back the the early 80's.
