Good morning. Took my son fishing for blue gills yesterday for a half hour, we didn't get any because it was in the middle of the day and he wouldn't let his bait sit long enough. Have a good Monday everybody.
I'm letting my son skip today and we are heading out after them. I hope everything goes well. Have a great day!!

Good luck to you and your son.

Good morning fellow Bassholes. I hope yall have a great week.
Who invented Mondays in the first place!! Normally extremely chipper and always in a good mood, this day has me seeing RED!!! Got my boat back a week ago and since I couldn't fish this past weekend(celebrated my grandsons' 2nd birthday over the weekend) I didn't mess with it until yesterday afternoon. New and existing fishfinders are working great and I set the settings up like Jim suggested in his electronics post. That was all good. Then I began the once over and low and behold hit the switches on the console for the airiators, lights and bildge pump. NOTHING!! Not one iota. NADDA!! :cussin: :cussin: Gages work, switches don't. I has to be something simple, I'm sure, but I have absolutely zero ability when it comes to doing such things myself so I am taking my beloved, antique Basscat back to my boat doctor during lunch. My hopes are that he will decide that this will be a "free" fix(except for maybe a cheep part) because I took some rather stinging verbal abuse from my better half over the cost of the work I just had done :argue: :argue: :wack: Anyway, this hasn't been one of my more steller Mondays but at least I found all that stuff before I got to the lake.

I wish you the best of luck Otter. I hope you get it fixed quickly.
Good news on the boat front :thumbup01: It looks like it is a fuse(or several). I have fire to the fuse box so when I get off today I get to check out the fuses. The boat doctor says they may just need to be "wiggled around" some. My concern was that since this boat has had a long and in some cases, an abused life, I was afraid some of the wiring had been jury rigged so badly that it could have come down to running new wiring. So, I got a break, Monday is looking better and I'm happy again :dance01: The boat doctor assured me that my boat was in better condition than I knew, told me to take a Pepcid, and relax. I feel much better now!! :boing:
[email protected] a pepcid and relax! Sounds like something I hear often LOL

Im glad to hear that there is light at the end of the tunnel for you Otter :thumbup01:
Do like the jello commercial... wiggle it and jiggle it ( the fuses ) lol
:rofl1:
Well it was some kinda windy for us and we spent a half of the morning trying to hunt down the Bass, it was snowing the last time I caught them. It has been in the 70s for a week and the nights aren't below 50 so stuff is changing. My son is 12 and is really starting to take an intrest in the bass. He was learning to use a bait caster today he knows what he wants to do. He just has trouble doing it. I told him if he learned in the wind he'd do fine any place else. He got a big old sow on a spinnerbait but he got so shook up she got off but we seen her first. I think that probably got him hooked for ever. He talked about that fish all day long. (probably gonna get us busted at school) I managed 3 decent fish on a buzzbait in the pockets off of the creek. But they were scattered and only in the pockets. I guess the water was warmer or something not for sure. My son thought it was cool to see those fish slam dunk that buzzbait and we tried like hell to get him hooked up but it didn't work. All in all it was well worth the school skipping in both of our eyes. Drew

Sounds like a great, fun trip Drew. I love seeing a bass hit any top water, but buzzbaits are a real treat! My Monday is now lasting two days! Yep, Tuesday has become Monday, the sequal. Got home yesterday, wiggled and jiggled then pulled each and every fuse and------NOTHING!!! :cussin: :dunno: Got up early and took my boat down to Billy the Boat Doctor and he is gonna find the problem(loose wire some where). The good news is, I discussed the situation with my wife and she said "Well, you gotta get it fixed". I was prepared for a bit of a discussion :argue: but I guess she noticed the utter frustration and disappointment on my face :cry01: and felt sorry for me. Honestly, when the chips are down, she's the greatest! SOOOO---if all goes well, I'll be fishing Sunday :dance01:
Once you get those bugs worked out you'll be OK. I have always tried to make my self believe if you don't ever stop fishing through out the year nothing like that will happen. I was painting my trailer with primer today and got underneath my boat. It looks like someone blasted the bottom with a shot gun. It doesn't leak but it doesn't look good either. I don't know what the heck to do. I stressed tested the hull last summer in a night tourney. I hit a battleship wave in the dark Running way to fast. It felt like I dropped off of the earth for a second and then slam and slam again because I couldn't get shut down fast enough. It scared the living hell out of me. I thought for sure I busted the hull. I beached it and was sure I was sinking but nothing happened so I thought you dumb a-- You know what you have now. Now I find this I don't know! I'm kinda worried. It ain't much but its all I got.

Holy crap Drew I bet that battleship wake was a sonuva... Id have messed my pants I think LOL
I hope that what yuo found under your boat is only something minor. When do you plan on carrying it to someone who can tell you more about it? I will keep my fingers crossed for ya buddy.
I don't know anyone to take it to that I trust. 9 out of 10 will say it needs a new jel-coat. If thats what it needs than OK but if it don't need it than I don't want to spend the jack on it. Maybe its ok I don't know.
AHHH--the joys of boat ownership!! I had a guy tell me once that the two best days he ever had with his boat were the day he bought it and the day he sold it :rofl1: I've got a sound boat and a good strong motor but I am almost ready to tell Billy to rip out all the wiring and re-wire the thing! It's the little things that I can't fix myself that are so frustrating :banghead: Drew, are you seeing fiberglass in your damaged area? I had a couple of places on mine when I bought it that looked like some one had pealed a portion of the skin off(neither was large) and the fiber glass was showing. I bought an epoxy patching compound from a dealer, not cheep, and fixed it with that. Once it dries, its as strong as steel and it has held up very well. Don't know what your damage looks like or if this stuff would help or not but once it is sanded, it's hard to tell it's there. I'll have to wait until I get home to get the name of it for you.
I would say there are about 100 of those spots all along the bottom of my boat. That sounds like the plan of action for me. Thanks. Drew
A little bit goes a long way with that stuff. Most boat dealers carry it and I believe it can also be found in th BPS catalog too. If you need the name of it, just PM me and I will forward it on.
Drew i bet your son is hooked, that must be an awesome feeling! Sorry to hear about your boat hope you get it squared away. Dave
