IMHO...Cottom Cordell was like the next generation Fred Arbogast.

According to this web article...Cordell was THE largest USA mfg of fishing lures from 1968 - 1980...

http://fishinghistory.blogspot.com/2008/08/history-of-cotton-cordell-by-todd-long.html

And he supposedly manufactured lures for other companies too...

Cotton Cordell produced lures for many other well known manufacturers over the years, including:

Heddon: Spin Fin, Sonic, Twin Spin and Sonar
Pflueger: Gay Blade
ABU Garcia: Large plastic topwater baits
Crème and Burke: Sold them his jigs and they added worms to the hooks
Creek Chub: Plastic Injured Minnows

Attached are several pics of older Cordell lures :baitmonkey:

Here's a hacked up pic of a couple of lures that I had that were made by Cordell...but didn't know it at the tiem as they were pictured in the 1973 Garcia catalog.

They are called "Mr. Whiskers" :fishing02:

Excellent baits. I used to love fishing with those sonics. My favorite Cordell lures are the wally diver, wally minnow, and the wiggle O.

Those Cordell baits were always in my tackle box, Thanks Dave :thumbup01: :thumbup01:

Wife was at Bass Pro yesterday in Spanish Fort, she was one of the first 100 into the store and they gave her a three pack of Cordell Rattle baits free, these baits are still going after all these years. Of course she gave them to me when she got home. :dance01:
