Fish the Conway Chain at first light for schooling-sized bass. Heavy winds have made it more difficult to locate the fish, but you can find them chasing shad at the surface. Use topwater lures, diving plugs, jerkbaits or spinnerbaits. Anything you can cast a good distance is the key. If the winds are too high, try working jerkbaits, spoons and plastic worms or lizards around docks.
