Over the last couple of months I have been paying more and more attention to the rods that I have been looking at, and I am having problems deciding which manufacturer I want to stick with and stay with. My hopes is that after staying with a manufacturer for all my rod needs, that I will be able to be part of their pro-staff, especially after I start fishing tournaments again.

So far, I have been looking at Castaway Rods, All-Star Rods, Falcon Rods, and St. Croix Rods. I have been leaning toward Castaway Rods, cause several angling friends use them.

What do you think? :D

I would have to say St. Croix, thats a given since way before our time, Old Penn Rods from the old Level-Matic Baitcaster Days, Allstar (NOT CHINESE MADE), and I really like Berkley Rods.

I am still leaning toward Castaway Rods, cause they are made in Texas, just like All-Star Rods used to me. I really lost my liking of All-Star Rods when I went to set the hook on a sizable catfish, and the rod snapped cleanly.

I like the way the St. Croix Rods look, and I guess that the next time I am in ATL, I will stop by Bass Pro Shops and I will check them out. I give my rods a thorough testing there in the store.

Castaway Rods are relatively unknown, from what I have seen. I know that a few of my friends have them, and they like them, and a few other friends are sponsored by them.

Still a few months to think things over. I like the feel of the Team Daiwa Rods, but I don't like the look of them. I don't like them having that little ball at the end of them. I want the cork to be solid and the full length of the butt of the rod.

How about I throw a 3rd option at you.. I know a guy ( ok, just knowwho he is from a forum ) that is a rod builder. Pop me a pm if you want a way to get a hold of him.

I will probably try one of his rods in about 2 months.

I have been using the diawa inner cast rods. The line goes inside the rod blank. I was wondering has anyone else tried these and what they think. I like mine for the feel but the line size I like really deminishes the performance of the rod. Drew

I have a buddy that is sponsored by Castaway and he likes them so far, he was sponsored by G-Loomis but he switched because Loomis wouldn't warranty his free rods. Another new one is All Pro Rods which is now sponsoring the Florida Bass Federation and giving all members up to 40% discount, here is a link for All Pro - http://www.allprorods.com. They gave a bunch of them away at the state championship, I didn't win one but I would have liked to try a free one!
