We had a stellar spring on the big channel cats, especially my partner Eric. Here are some pics of the good ones we caught.

I took this guy out and promised him a 10 + fish, well turns out he got a 22lb behemoth. Gotta love when you put someone on big fish like that. Made his year!

Very nice cats Rich! Except that 22lb one you put that guy on... that is one UGLY catfish... big.... but god its ugly LOL Do you release the catfish or did you keep any to eat? I believe in a lot of the north east (atleast where I lived in CT and NY) you cant eat any of the cats you catch... how are the waters up by you?

Great pix Rich! Thank you for sharing.

Not sure which is uglier.............that catfish, or Rich! :p Nah, just kidding. That catfish is purdy! ;D No, seriously, those are some great catfish. If Carrie and I ever get the chance to go fishing, then we will be doing some catfishing. I am going to try to break her into the bass fishing, but she's more of a catfish and bluegill angler.

Those are some nice catfish. I haven't been that much myself. What were yall using for bait?
We got almost all of our cats on chunks of sucker meat, but also cut shad worked. I have friends who say use small chunks for big fish, I prefer to use insanely huge amounts of meat for bait, lol. It all seems to work just the same!
I fish Lake Champlain in NY. I catch cats up to 30 lbs. I let all over 5 go but I will keep a few for the plate and they are good eating.
