All that is being said is that KVD has been DQ'ed. More information to follow. KVD is the highest ranked angler in the Elite Series Power Ranking. In 2004 and 2005, he won the Elite Series Championships.

I will put more up here when it's reported.

You beat me to the punch, Jared. I agree that KVD was clearly in the wrong, as the rules state, and that a DQ was in order.

I am a huge fan of KVD and I readily admit that I model myself after his styles and methods of fishing. I am sure that KVD agrees with the DQ as he was clearly in the wrong, and I hope that he accepts it and moves on.

I personally wish KVD the best of luck in the coming tournaments and I hope to see him back in top form soon.

KVD has responded, and he says that the only person he can blame is himself. This, in my opinion, is the way to conduct yourself when you are viewed as a professional in any given sport.

His DQ lasts until April 2nd at midnight. He will be able to contend in the Elite Series stop on Lake Guntersville in Alabama.

He said that it's tough to swallow, but that he will "take his lumps and move on".
