In an ABA Tournament on Sam Rayburn recently, anglers found themselves on holding patterns after being released from their ease outs when a thick fog bank suddenly dropped over them like an iron curtain. Most boaters throttled down to idle speed for safety reasons when, out of the fog, a ‘ten per-center’ disregarding all safety concerns ran right through the throng of idling boats.
One ABA boater, startled by the speeding craft, took his attention off what was in front of him for only a second, and by the time he refocused it was too late as his boat ran up and over top of another boat, causing the other driver to dive under his console to avoid being crushed. Both anglers managed to escape injury with only minor damage to their boats.
