I recently got my ol Evinrude 150XP running great (finally) and making the boat MOVE! However, in order to get it so it would jump out of the hole in the water, I had to zero out the shift linkage. Of course, when you do that you lose reverse because all of the "play" will be neutral to forward....it doesnt have enough movement to engage reverse. So...that being said I have played with it some and when I get it to where it will go in reverse, the throttle and timer base are off. Now, it is running and accelerating great (66 mph per GPS) but, as stated earlier won't hit reverse which I have learned just to get along without... :rofl1:
Anyone give me a hand walking me through a link and sync procedure or give me some pointers on adjusting the shift linkage? Thank you for any help. BTW it is a 1983 Evinrude 150 XP
