Not a big fan of salt either but will add it if requested.

Re: Quick question.

Im with Jigman. I seldom use salt in my mixtures. I sometimes use pieces of nails incerted in the plastic, or I will wrap wire on the hook to make it a dab heavier.

Re: Quick question.

Salt will also make your baits pale. You'll need more colorant to get the same results plus you will have to do a bunch of stirring as the salt will sink to the bottom of you pan or pyrex.

I don't use it much since I find it to be a pain. I use an worm nail or carpet tack when I want a wacky to sink.

Re: Quick question.

Salt increases the density of the bait, and therefore increases its sink rate..The two most often used in the production of Soft Plastic Baits are Flour Salt and Granular Salt. Each has different characteristics, but both increase density and sink rate.

Quick question.

Does salt make your baits sink or float? Also what are some of the ways you guys get your baits to sink? By that I mean what do you add to your plastic.
