Default Microwaving Plastic for Pouring Baits?

Last night I microwaved some plastic to try to make a tube bait. I poured some plastic liquid in a glass jar and tossed it in the micro.

I only microed it for... hmmm... crap now i dont remember how long it was lol It was somewhere around a minute..

I made my tube no problem... but the liquid plastic in the jar is yellowish. Should it be or did I somehow nuke it too long?

How long do yall nuke plastic in the micro? Ive never used a micro before, I have always used copper bottom pots and small stoves.

see the yellowing in this image...

Jared, use Pyrex. Glass jars can shatter if sat on a cold surface with 300+ degree plastic in them. Can be a pretty nasty accident.

ok cool. thank you guys.

I just used an old glass jar that once had spices in it lol I used the handle of an xacto knife, rubbed down with olive oil, to dip and make the tube with LOL

How did you form the "tube"?? How do you progress from that stage?
I have zero experience in this area...ok, less than zero!

I'm with Mo on this one, but I do have a ? Wouldn't it be easier to have a mold that you could pour the plastic into? As far as the glass jars I'd use some old candle jars myself, just a thought.

Jared did you get your plastic problem figured out?
If you need any help with anything let me know.
You want your plastic to stay right around 350 degrees.

Give me a shout if I can help you.
