Falcon Lake

I have made several trips to Falcon since the end of July and going back again this Wednesday. The fishing is off the chain. Catching 40 fish per day up to 9#'s has been the better days and catching 20 per day up to 7# has been the worse. I have pretty much fished most of the lake and have found 10' to 17' the best. The fish have been on the main lake points and back in the creeks until the creek channel gets to 10'.

The best bait has been the big plastic stick baits, but have caught fish on cranks, spinners, buzz baits and jigs. Catching teenager bass is being done. There has been several 13# class fish caught when I was there. Not sure if I ever had one that big on as the odds of getting a fish on and in the boat is 3 to 1 in the fish's favor. The feel of the bite is almost not noticeable and when you do set the hook the fish are in the brush instantly. If you get lucky and hook a fish where the brush is thin, the bass jump three to five foot out of the water several times. I think the Falcon fish are the meanest bass I have ever fished.

If you get a chance to go to Falcon......GO!

Would love to make that trip. How long does it take you to drive down there. We are so close drive time should be about the same.

I live in Pecan Grove Plantation (Richmond) just south of Katy. One trip I stayed on 10 to 35 to 83 and it took a little over 6 hours. The last two trips I went 59 to 77 to 16 and it took 5.5 hours. Interstate all the way is 383 miles versus 333 the other way.

I was wondering who had a wrapped boat that lived in Pecan Grove. I saw it one day we were doing our annual trip through there to look at Christmas lights. I'm in Richmond also.
What tourneys are you fishing? I fish ABA Dist 119 & 51 good bunch of guy's friendly competition. You and joegoudeu should think about fishing with us since most tourney's are close to home. By the way I put on a kids fishing class a few years back for a local private school and we fished in the pond in front of the club house. I thought it would be a perch jerk pond. I was surprised "That thing is full of bass"

I removed the wrap almost a year ago. PGP is known for its Christmas lights and when I played golf, I used take my son out for a few holes after work. We carried our fishing poles and did a good job of hitting the on course ponds. Those were better fishing than the front pond, we thought.

I fish with the Houston Oilmans Federation club and all the major oilfield tourneys with an occasional bigger money tournament. I used to fish BASS, Western Bass, Golden Blend and Bassin America, but retired from all that and just enjoy my oilfield events and taking my clients and son fishing now.

Like TxMrBass said, we would welcome you to Chapter 119 of the ABA. I didn't get into many of the tourney's last year, but will be in all of them this coming season. I'm not far from you up here in Huntsville and would love to make the connection sometime at Conroe? maybe? I live on Lake Livingston, outside of Huntsville, but fish just about anywhere there's water. :lmao:

Alan, I would love to hook up with you one day on either lake. I am planning on going to Livingston in the next few weeks.
