A buddy of mine got a new boat and we took it out of Indian Point for its maiden voyage on big water. Put in at 6:45pm. Found very little traffic comparitively. 78-82 deg, slightly stained water. Ran down to a series of ledges and riprap points encircling coves. Found shad active on the surface and many bass on the graph... and got the
of a lifetime
! I did land a nice 22" flathead, but that was the only water-dwelling critter we got to say hello to. Anyhow, in the future, I'll know that cranks, spinners, t-rigged plastics, C-rigged plastics, buzzbaits, Pop-rs, Spooks, Rage Tail Shad, Storm Wildeye swimbaits, drop shot and jigs don't work
. I'd better go look through my bait boxes for some old helicopter lures! They gotta be the ticket.
Hey, that's fishing, ain't it?...Maybe I'll see if I can pull my ol' friend away from yardwork for a re-match against those wiley bass
Ya'll be good and be safe!
