Default Blue Hole has a hole

I need some advice/guidance from some of you repair experts. I have a Blue Hole Canoe from way back in the 80’s. This was the best canoe I ever owned and still is except for one thing… I have put a bug slash in the bottom. I have tried to seal it with rubber and glue… epoxy… plastic… etc.

Biggest problem is the material a Blue Hole is made of is very flexible so everything I put on to seal it pops off. If it’s flexible enough, it get’s peeled off when I canoe. I need something that will flex and bond to the material.

Any Suggestions?

You might be successfull with two of the boots they use to patch tractor tires, the glue they use bonds and stays flexible, and the boot itself is flexible. Rough up the inside and outside of the canoe in the area of the hole, then find a boot the proper size or trim one to be slightly larger than the hole, apply the tire cement to the area on the outside of the canoe, once you place the outside patch, and it sets, glue the inside area, including the area of the outside patch you see through the hole, then install the inside patch, this way both patchs will stick to each other in the area of the hole and help seal it. Its at least worth a try.
