Welcome to our newest board - Jon Boats and Other Small Boats.

This board was created for the discussion of your smaller water craft. Whether it be brand discussions, how to fish from them, problem solving or modfications to enhance them, this is the place you want to post.

This is a great idea Jared thanks! I can't afford a big Bass boat but I do pretty well outta my 12 foot Starcraft and with the price of fuel I am just loving my trolling motor! I bought my boat from an guy at my local lake for $120.00 and just bought seats, the motor, battery, charger, rod holders, life vests and anchor. It was red when I got it but I also bought some spray paint and gave it a killer camo job. I chose to put the seats on crates with swivels so when we camp or hit the shore we can take the seats out and chill out around a fire or catfish or whatever. It has served me well for spending less then four hundred bucks as I also use it to go crabbing in the bay on calm days. If you don't have one of these creek rats I suggest you look into it! Here's a pic of mine just to see how it's set up not the best pic.

Sweet Billy!

How are the seats attached? Are they attached to the crates and are the crates attached to the boat too or am I see it wrong? I like how they are higher up than just attaching them to the benches.

I just have them clamped to the crates with the swivels Jared. That way you can just take them out and store them and also use them if your camping or whatever. My buddy has the pedastools on his but they are too high up and make the balance a little sketchy. What I like about not having the seats attached is also that I can move them around to distribute weight better.

Love the new forum, Jared. I'll be posting here quite a bit I think.

As much as I'd love to have a large glass rig, you just aren't going to get one into the majority of the bodies of water that I fish....unfortunately. Love my tin rig!
