One topwater to use for river fishing?

So What do yall think would be the best topwater to use in river fishing? Im thinking a tiny torpedo. Just not sure on a color pattern though. Which it seems the only pattern I do see is a yellow and grey. But whats my fellow bassholes take on this? You can only pick one to use.

I hve a couple favorite topwaters that I always use in rivers. In order of which works most often would be:

Yellow Magic topwater popper in any color that has a white belly.

next

Smithwick Devil Horse.... again I like the white belly.

All sound like great choices. But for some reason the torpedo is calling my name. I got to try the jitterbugs. I dunno why I havent tryed them out yet.

A Tiny Torpedo is a great bait for sure.

We did a Share-A-Bait with them one round. Was a lot of fun. :tu A Devils Horse is basically a Tiny Torpedo on steroids lol

I used to use a Yellow magic but have switched to a Spro baby Popper. You can skip the dude way under over hanging brush and as an added bonus It won't get hung up due to being weedless.

Small buzzbait or frog.river fish are typically shallow cover oriented creatures and treble hooks and heavy cover don't mix.not so much getting hung on cast as it is a problem when fighting them.
