Default Stick Molds

Is there much any difference between the different 5.25" stick worm molds? I am looking at the ones I can hand pour like Del-Mart, Kmolds, others?

I think that is a matter of opinion on who is using them. I have one of the Dels stick molds that I really like, some people don't like them and prefer Bears or K Molds instead. I see nothing wrong with the mold I have and the fish don't seem to care either. Its a matter of trail and error. I did notice that in hand pouring stick molds you will see occasional dents but you can avoid them by learning what causes them. It took me about a week to pour with out getting any voids/dents and I did some searching on all the plastic making websites. I even made a 6 cavity stick mold out of fiber glass resin that makes great baits. Good luck with your lure making and have fun. Don't be afraid to experiment, after all its just plastic and you can always remelt it.

Ive only used Bears, so I dont know if there is really a difference or not. If there is a difference, I would think it would be quite small.

I do have a hand pour 5.5" but I am moving towards all injection for speed of pouring. The one I have is a Del's but would never buy another from him for a completely different reason. Let's just say if there is a sale going on you may not get your mold for a long time. I think the main difference would be how the mold goes together. Del's uses a barrel type thumb screw but you also need to insert removable pins into the corner so that it lines up straight. Basstackle has smaller pins built into the mold and uses wing nuts to tighten it down. The Basstackle molds go together faster and easier in my opinion. Most of my molds are from Basstackle because I like the designs and they way they go together. I have no experience with Kmolds.

Sounds about right rockintats. I think it was right at 6-7 months for me to get the last of my molds from the Thanksgiving 2 for 1 sale. Emails and calls will get you promises but thats it. Post about it in his forum and it will get deleted.
