Default How to keep you plastic hot while pouring laminates

franksrooty2 @ Youtube

NOTE: Frank uses a electric skillet w/ 4 measureing cups
and no water in the skillet

2 cups for solidified plastic
2 cups for HOT liquid plastic

The advantage to using the electric skillet is the solidified
plastic is melting while you are injecting more baits

Set the Skillet temp to 400

I wonder what dual injector system he is using. I have Bears Baits dual injectors but it looks nothing like the one this guy is using. I like how the injectors are clamped together and then t he other device that is used to combine the two colors before they enter the mold is very interesting too.

i agree Jared, the injector looks pretty neat. I am envious of the secured tips. I have popped the tip off my injector more times than i care to count. Terribly frustrating.

Thanks for sharing this video David.

Same here. Its very aggravating having to remove it from the hot plastic... fishing around in it with a screw driver till I find the hole lol

That is a Basstackle dual injector, $159. It has been on my list to buy one of those as soon as I sell my other twin set.

I use silicon tipped tongs. I tried the screw driver, but man that was just too rough for me. I dinged my presto pot and decided to spend $7 on a pair of tongs. Works a treat, but still frustrating.

Ken, thanks for telling us who made the injector. Seems like it would be worth the $160!

Hey guys I am the one in the video. I have had that Twinjector since he came out with it. I was the one that put those pins in because of the same thing you are talking about but it was X two. Both of them would fall in the plastic. The next day I fixed that forever with the pins. I sent him a pic of what I did and from then on he made his with the same pins. It is real easy to do if you want to take a litttle time and have a drill and dremel tool. I will post a pic close up so you can see. Tha adapter is just two channels that direct the plastic to the sprue. It never mixes in it so when you clean it out it can be reused. Frank

Good deal Frank! I love that notch and pin idea of yours! That's great!
