Default Plastic Packrat.

Maybe I'm just stingy but I recycle every ounce of plastic I can. Maybe it's just because I'm still new to it and don't want to waste my precious plastic. Her's how silly it gets. I pick up all of the little plastic beads that fall between the mold and my cup during pouring and put them back into the cup to be reheated. Any tiny imperfections that I cut off of the baits goes back into the cup. If I pouring to different colors, I'll mix both of them together when both get so low they won't pour any more just to get a couple more baits. Never now what the color will be, but so far they have been interesting. Is this extreme or normal? Do I need professional help?

I hate to tell ya airfisherman, we all need help! I always joke that this is a hobby/sickness. You just wait till you whack a good fish on your baits. Then it is all over!

I don`t do plastic`s, but I think it`s great that you are recycling. There is enough plastic in our landfills. Some of the off the wall colors you come up with might just be the killer colors needed.Happy making!!!

Nothing wrong with being prudent when it comes to Recycling, whatever and whenever, we can...It's a good thing to do...Through the process you squeek another few baits out of it so it's all good...And you may come up with some miracle color combination...Bad news is, you'll probably never be able to recreate that exact "custom color" again....

Keep up the good Recycling habits...Our planet needs more people to pay attention to it.

I put all the leftover plastic in containers. I use the Kool Aid powdered drink ones and write the color one the outside after peeling off the label. I figure after a few batches of the same color it will give me some extra baits when I add it to the heating.

I keep snack bags and sandwich bags in the work area. When I do a mix I write it down on piece of paper then transfer it to a lable and put the label on the bag and the left overs in the bag. If I don't have left overs, I put a bait with the recipe on a label and bag it.

You should see my shop. I have HUGE containers of leftovers from pours. I take a handful and melt them together and whatever color comes out is what it becomes. I call it my trash color. I tell my customers that if they want that same color, bring it back as it is almost impossible to duplicate. LOL. You are not alone with your addiction. LOL. I even sweep up the dribbles from the floor ! Funny part is the trash color usually outfishes the normal colors !
