Fresh set of NGK's, Seafoam (b12 Chemtool is a cheaper option and honestly think it does a little better as a cleaner), and NO ETHANOL. That stuff will ruin your engine if it hasn't started to already. Your motor is probably old enough to not be built to handle it. I think new plugs and some cleaner with real gas instead of shine will make it a scalded ape again tho

Here's something you can do with the Seafoam to give your motor a shock treatment. Take a gallon gas can and pour the whole can in it. Fill the rest of the way with gas. Unhook the line from your fuel filter if available or just stick your bulb in to suck it in there. Fire it up and watch the smoke show. After running for about 15 mins or so on the hose pour the rest in your tank and hit the lake. Truth be told I think people use too much Seafoam during regular operation and should only be used a couple times a year. Just opinion so don't shoot.

Seafoam is good stuff but the barrymens b12 is to harsh it can wash oil away from the cyl walls if mixed to heavy.
I recomend either seafoam, mercs quickleen or yamahas ring free. also its not a bad idea to send the injectors out and have them cleaned and flowed I use injector RX in houston, tx for this.

I run a bottle of the Mercury Quickleen through about every 3 fillups on the boat, and the Mercury stabilizer every fillup, never had a problem so far.

I am a fan of the 1 gallon can with seafoam. Most cleaners are ethanol based. I usually seafoam mine every spring.

Mercury Quikleen in EVERY fill up mixed to instruction on the bottom. Just prefer to use a Mercury product in my Mercury engine.

I would put in new plugs and get a tune up. clean out the water fuel separator, etc.

then run the "cocktail" in EVERY tank of gas. The cocktail is a mixture recommended by Don Weed, certified master tech for mercs.

per 6 gal of gas
1oz Merc Quickleen
1oz Stabil
1-2oz Seafoam.

I actuall premix this and use it every time i put gas in the boat.
