Shade, security, an ample amount of prey and countless ambush points are a few of the benefits that make grass so attractive to bass, especially during the warmer months of the year. A patient angler with the proper gear and presentation can capitalize on this prime aquatic real estate enjoying this "Splendor in the Grass". Carrying a heavy sack of fish to the scales or perhaps even catching the fish of a lifetime can be the reward.
Our choices are great when it comes to fishing for grass dwelling bass. Nearly every bait in our arsenal can be employed as well as many different presentation such as punching, pitching, twitching, flipping or ripping. Whether it be dead sticking with a motionless bait on the bottom or skittering a bait over the top, pulling bass from the grass is always an exciting challenge.
This evening, our discussion will focus on the "Splendor in the Grass". We will be discussing the various different types of grass we encounter whether it be hydrilla, millfoil, coontail, hyacinth, pads or other. Our discussion will also cover all the methods at our disposal as well as rod, reel and line selections and preferences. Come join us and share your thoughts on this great topic.
