Awesome baits and colors Big O. I can see some of these new Rage Tail products in my boat soon. These new colors are just what I have been looking for.

I fished it "naked" on a round head jig for Smallies this Spring with OUTSTANDING success. I was sworn to secrecy, being as the bait hadn't been announced yet. It has an extremely enticing action and worked very well for me in clear water, as well as stained water.

Mo, how did you fish it? Were most strikes on the fall or retrieve?

Thanks.

I fished it on round Gammy jigheads, as well as naked Swim Jigs...I got hits swimming it as well as on a "lift/drop" presentation. If I stumbled across a bed, the fish couldn't stand it, and absolutely attacked it, using just slight twitches as it slide through the bed.

I really liked the original Rage Tail Shad in the original (shad) color. Caught fish on it when they wouldn't hit a Booyah Buzz Bait. The problem I had with them is they weren't consistant. One, in the same package, would seem to be a different softness than another and they all didn't run the same. The good runners were really good but there were about 50% of the good per package. The dark colored ones were very pliable and soft, ran about the same but I never caught anything on them. The good ones were good for about two fish then the nose would be too tore up to hold to the eyelet of the hook.
Just my experience with them. I am sure the newer ones have been improved.

The packaging has been changed to help keep the consistency amongst the baits, and keep them better protected. There are still a few out on shelves that I see now and then that are old inventory of that particular shop that are still the old packaging...Since they changed the packaging, I see very little, if any, inconsistency in the baits.
I use alot of different "soft" baits that tear easily. But that same softness is what allows for a more realistic action and is what also gets me fish sometimes. Kind of a catch 22 situation. I use Mend It to repair all my soft plasctics and extend their lives, no matter who the manufacturer is.

The more I look at all these new Rage Tail products, the more I know I have to get my hands on some of those 8" Recon worms, they might just be my new favorite worm.

For some odd reason, I have to urge to fish the Menace like a big beetle spin.
