Bass West USA Magazine Undergoes Re-Design
Announces New Staff and Unveils New Look for March / April Edition

Brentwood, Calif. - Already known as "the' publication for hardcore bass anglers, Bass West USA has undergone a complete graphic makeover for the March / April, 2009 issue and subscribers will see the new look soon, as the edition has begun shipping, and will begin arriving in mailboxes soon.

Bass West USA has long had a tradition of state of the art graphic design that provides a rich canvas on which the message of the book has been delivered.  Now, with a new design and the addition of new staff, who believe in the ongoing tradition of the title, Bass West USA enters a new era in its 15 year history.

Throughout the years, Bass West USA has been known as the place to get in-depth information on hot new techniques that originated on the west coast.  When Kotaro Kiriyama and Aaron Martens began to expose the world to the effectiveness of the drop shot rig at a Bassmaster Invitational at Lake Oroville in 1999, Bass West USA brought the story to light.

When Byron Velvick set the fishing world on its ear with his record setting 83-pound, 5-ounce performance at the 2000 Bassmaster Western Invitational at Clear Lake, it was Bass West USA who provided the details of his swimbait patterns to the world.

As the years have progressed, Bass West USA has been on the forefront when the topic of education and entertainment in a bass fishing publication is discussed.  The pages of the magazine have been filled with information that true fans and practitioners of the sport could appreciate, enjoy and learn from.

Keeping with that tradition of being a premier 'edutainment' publication, Bass West USA has brought new team members into the fold that will aid in pushing the publication further into the future.  Joining Publisher Mark Mendez and Editor Jamie Cyphers are Managing Editor, Tony Stoltz, Field Editor Dan O'Sullivan, and Mike Margineanu, the magazine's new Art Director.

Stoltz served as a Lab Administrator at Mac User Magazine in the 90's before taking over ownership of ncbf.com, which later became Westernbass.com, the West Coast's most popular online bass fishing website.  O'Sullivan has served as a freelance journalist for more than a dozen years, having been published regionally and nationally in print and on the Internet in publications including Bass West USA, Bass Times and as a Senior Writer for BASS ZONE .com.  Margineanu is a career graphic artist who has served in the publishing world for the past 11 years, currently serving as Art Director of the east coast's Fisherman Magazine.

The March / April 2009 edition of Bass West USA features former Bassmaster Classic Champion and FLW and Bassmaster Angler of the Year Denny Brauer on the cover, who is covered in the popular Legends of the Sport feature.  Along with Brauer, the magazine also features Joe to Pro with Elite Series pros Chris and Bobby Lane from Lakeland, Fla., Early Season Cranking with Elite Series pro John Crews, an El Salto Destination piece as well as Bass West USA's usual Pro Files, Top Shelf new product showcase, Lunker Photos and other popular mainstays.

While the commitment to excellence in content remains, all of Bass West USA's features and departments will display the newly updated graphic touches that bring Bass West USA into a new level of print journalism, education and entertainment.

The March / April edition of Bass West USA is currently shipping.  For publication, subscription or advertising information contact the Bass West USA offices at (800)360-7112 or on the web at www.basswestusa.com.
